Does a portion of my order go to charity?

Yes! 10% of our web sales are donated to pediatric cancer patients and their families to help improve quality of life. The proceeds could benefit anything from meals to the families to medical bills. We believe that research is very important, however, we do not want to forget about the families in the currently dealing with this terrible illness. If you'd like to learn more about the two nonprofits that we partner with. please visit Base Camp Children's Cancer Foundation's website at basecamp.org and Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation's website at alexslemonade.org. We are always open to partnering with other pediatric cancer nonprofits not listed above. If you know of a charity that would be a great partner for us, please let us know by emailing nicolemacaronco@gmail.com ♥

Will the macarons melt while shipping?

We ship our macarons in insulated styrofoam coolers with sweat-proof ice packs. If you receive your order with ice packs that have defrosted in transit, fret not, your macarons will still be good upon arrival. Please be sure to put your macarons in the fridge once you receive them.  You will receive a card with your order explaining how to care for your precious macarons :)

How long do the macarons last upon arriving at my door?

You should refrigerate your macarons immediately upon arrival. We recommend enjoying your macarons at room temperature by taking your macarons out of the fridge and letting them rest on the counter for 15-30 minutes :) Macarons should always be refrigerated. They are best for about a week after receiving them in the mail. HELPFUL TIP: You can freeze your macarons in a freezer safe container for up to one month! All you need to do is pop them in the freezer in a freezer safe container and allow 30-60 minutes to defrost the macarons at room temperature before you consume them.  To get even more technical, we advise moving the macarons from the freezer to the fridge the day/night before you plan to consume them to allow for a more gradual adjustment.

Can I freeze my macarons for a later date?

Yes, you can freeze your macarons up to one month if you put the macarons in freezer safe packaging.

How do you ship macarons without them going bad?

Unlike most pastries, macarons get better with time. Even in Paris, pastry chefs like Pierre Herme will set macarons aside for 24-48 hours to allow for an osmosis to occur between the macaron shells. After a couple days forming an osmosis, the macarons will reach their perfect consistency! Slight crunch on the outside with a cake-like chewy consistency on the inside.
